Open source controller framework lets you add the finishing touch

Many off-the-shelf controllers out there, but what if you want something a little more … You? How is fully customizable, with a good seasoning of accessibility and style? Design student Alex S has developed a framework to help build just that.

The unit shown above is for the DJ-based programs, but can make a software interface that takes input from HID or Midi, and because they are modular, making infinite ultra-custom set-ups.

Stakeholders to eliminate technical barriers, Alex creates step-by-step Instructable, but you still have to dirty their hands with Arduino and some circuits. The entire project is open source, and if it is a step up from Lego, until you just print these things, I think is a good choice for us.
